Microdermabrasion Facial

WHAT IS DIAMOND MICRODERMABRASION?
Diamond Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive procedure that uses diamond tips to exfoliate the surface of the skin, while the power of vacuum suction removes dead skin cells and debris. You may even notice younger, healthier-looking skin after your first treatment. Microdermabrasion also stimulates the production of an underlying layer of skin cells with higher levels of collagen and elastin, which further improves your skin’s appearance. This diamond dermabrasion tips and wands set is suitable for all skin types and will not cause any scarring, color changes, or discomfort.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic treatment with an excellent safety profile for people of all skin types and colors. When compared to other forms of physical exfoliation, microdermabrasion requires no sedation, downtime or recovery period.
Potential side effects following a microdermabrasion session are limited. Patients may experience mild skin redness, tenderness, bruising or petechiae, each of which clears up within a maximum of one day after treatment.
Adhering to proper aftercare, including frequent moisturization and protection from sun exposure, will minimize the effects of the skin’s photosensitivity and dryness.
You can go home right after your procedure. Your skin might be a little red, swollen or sensitive for up to 24 hours.
Typically a series of treatments is recommended to see desired results.
Pre- Care
7 days prior to treatment
✔ Discontinue the use of cleansing devices (e.g Clarisonic) as well as any facial waxing or depilatories. Discontinue the use of any skincare containing retinoids, tretinoin, alphahydroxy acids (AHA), beta-hydroxy acids (BHA), benzoyl peroxide or any exfoliating agents such as a cleanser containing a physical scrub.
24 hours prior to treatment
✔ Avoid prolonged sun exposure.
✔ Any sunburn to the area needs to be fully treated up to 24 hours before the treatment.
✔ For patients prone to cold sores, an anti-viral medication must be taken 24 hours prior to treatment.
Post-Treatment
What to expect:
✔ Your skin may feel tight and more sensitive than usual.
What to avoid:
✔ Avoid any direct sun exposure. After 72 hours, a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or above should be used whenever there is sun exposure. This precaution
should be continued throughout the treatment duration.
✔ Discontinue the following products until your skin has completely healed:
Tretinoin, retinoids, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), beta-hydroxy acids (BHA), bleaching creams and exfoliating cleansing devices like the Clarisonic.
